Weather and Climate in Beijing

Beijing is of the typical temperate semi-humid continental monsoon climate with hot and rainy summer, cold and dry winter, short spring and autumn. 80% of the annual precipitation is concentrated in June, July and August. In September and October, the weather is clear, fresh and has the best quality air. Autumn is the most beautiful season of the year.

Best Time to Visit

Dressing

From April to May, you'll need to pack something light: long-sleeved shirt plus one or two jackets and sweaters.

From June to August, cotton and linen shirts, thin skirts, thin t-shirts and other cool and breathable clothes are recommended.

From September to October, long-sleeved shirts and thin coats are suggested.

From the middle of November to the middle of March, the weather is cold and dry, so you'd better bring sweaters, sweatpants and cotton clothes to prevent the cold. Heating will be available in Beijing from the middle of November. With heating facilities, the indoor temperature is about 20℃.You may want to take off your coat when you go outside and put on your coat when you go outside. Please take some cold medicine to prevent colds just in case.
