The famous Sichuan-Tibet line is actually the southern line, which is only part of the G318 national highway. It starts from Chengdu, passes through Kangding, Litang, Batang, Mangkang, Zuogong and Nyingchi, and finally reaches Lhasa.

The Sichuan-Tibet route is the most spectacular and beautiful road in the history of Tibet!

It is also known as "the most dangerous road in China", but you can see the most beautiful sky and the marvellous scenery along the way. Thousands of travelers dream to drive this way to Tibet each year, just to have a view of the landscapes.

Kangding

Drive on the most beautiful G318 national highway through the first ancient city - Kangding.

About 110 kilometers away from Kangding County, there is a grassland with flocks of cattle and sheep -- Tagong Grassland. On the Sichuan-Tibetan route, it is known as a favorite place of bodhisattva.

72 Bends

Move downward by following the famous 72 Bends till the shore of Nu River. The snow-blanketed mountains range stretches into infinite vista.

Ranwutso Lake

Serving as the source of Parlung Tsangpo Lake, Ranwutso Lake is a typical seasonal glacial lake in Chamdo. The narrow strip of river stretches westward for about 10km and slowly winds up in a giant canyon.

Lulang Forest

Lulang Forest is an enchanting forest covering an area of 15 sq km on the plateau. This region is blanketed with vibrant shrubs, spruces and pine trees.

Mila Pass

Mila Pass, located between Lhasa and Nyingtri Prefecture, is the highest point on the Lhasa-Nyingchi section of the G 318 National Highway with its altitude at 5, 013 meters.

Potala Palace

Potala Palace is the highest ancient palace in the world. Potala, named after a holy hill in South India, is a Sanskrit word meaning "Abode of the Avalokitesvara (Buddha of Mercy)."

Of course, Lhasa is just the end of the Sichuan-Tibetan Route. G318 ends in Zhangmu Town, a beautiful border town across from Nepal. After the earthquake, Zhangmu Town is no longer available for tourists. The current border is Gyirong Border.
