Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou High Speed Train is available now

Breaking News! It is now possible to take Chengdu Jiuzhaigou fast train and it only takes about 1.5hrs from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou! When Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou railway has not built up, it takes about 8 to 10 hrs driving , a very tiring journey when travelers who want to travel overland to Jiuzhaigou. Although it is possible to fly to Jiuzhaigou from Chengdu, the flights are easily get cancelled and delayed which great influnced  travel plans especially  for those who come to Jiuzhaigou for a short time period.

On Aug. 27, 2024, the last section of Sichuan-Qinghai Railway has completed (from Zhenjiangguan to Huanglong Jiuzhaigou) and the railway is expected to be put into use on Aug. 30, 2024". That is a milestone with the marvellous project and takes great efforts , people, asset to complete. Chengdu to  Jiuzhaigou railway starts to compelete from Year, 2011, after 13 years, finally Chengdu Jiuzhaigou bullet train are going to be running with all excitement.     The big earthquake of Jiuzhaigou in year 2017 has destroyed a large part of the originally planned rail route, so rail route had to be new designed and rebuilt. After another 7 years, Chengdu jiuzhaigou high speed train finally runs！

Travel Guide from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou

There are 6 trains running from Chengdu East Railway station to  Huanglong Jiuzhaigou station and 5 trains running from Huanglong Jiuzhai station to Chengdu East Railway station. Shortest train journey is only about 1.5rs, first class seats cost about RMB 225/Ticket for one way while second class ticket cost about RMB 141/Ticket.

How to travel from Huanglong Jiuzhai Station to Jiuzhaigou Park?

It is about 100km from Huanglong Jiuzhaigou statoin to Jiuzhaigou park entrance, about 2 hrs driving. There shall be public bus running from but have to wait til get enough people to run the bus. Or you can hire a car or take a taxi from Huanglong Jiuzhaigou station to Jiuzhaigou park. In peak season from July to October, it will be easy to find a car but in off season or shoulder season, there might be so many cars waiting at the train station so to arrange a car in advance would be recommended so travelers do have to wait for a long time.

How to travel from Huanglong Jiuzhaigou station to Huanglong park?

Huanglong Jiuzhaigou station from Huanglong park is about 30km, 40 minutes driving from Huanglong jiuzhaigou station to Huanglong park. Same situation for self-arranged travel for the transfer from Huanglong Jiuzhai station to Jiuzhaigou park

How many stops between Chengdu East Railway station to Huanglong Jiuzhaigou station?

Different Chengdu Jiuzhaigou highspeed train has different  train stops along the way.

Train C5782(06:45-08:24) will run directly to Huanglong Jiuzhai station without anystop on the way.

Train  C5792 (10:29-12:20) has 2 stops at  Sanxingdui  and Mao County

Train C5752(11:46-11:55）has 5 stops which is Sanxingdui, Shifang West, Mianzu south, Anzhou, Mao County

Train C5766(14:44-16:54) has 5 stops at Shifang West, Gaochuan, Mao County, Zhenjiangguan, Songpan

Train C5796(15:45-17:36) has 2 stops at Qingbaijiang East, Mianzu south

Train C5756(18:36-20:33) has 3 stops at Sanxingdui, Mianzu south and Anzhou.

Can travelers buy only 1 ticket get off from one station and get on again ?

It is not possible to use just 1 ticket to get off from 1 stop and get on the train again the same day or the other  day! If travelers want to enjoy the scenary for each stop, recommended to buy ticket from 1 station to next stop you wanted!

How to plan a travel from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou park and Huanglong park? How many days are needed to travel to Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong Park?

It is recommended to plan a 3 days travel by Chengdu Jiuzhaigou high speed train. A program like the bellowing would be recommended

Day 1  Take the train from Chengdu to Huanglong jiuzhaigou, take car transfer to Jiuzhaigou

Day 2 Visit Jiuzhaigou park

Day 3  Visit Huanglong park and take the evening train back to Chengdu.    

For some travelers are on tight shedule could also plan a 2 days travel as per the bellowing

Day 1  Take morning Chengdu jiuzhaigou bullet train,  visit Huanglong park and overnight at Jiuzhaigou

Day 2 visit Jiuzhaigou park and take evening train back to Chengdu
