As experienced travelers know, the best time for western Sichuan is from middle October to Middle November because during this time, the forests will be full of colors : red, yellow, geen etc and very suitable for photograph. Western Sichuan never lacks of snow mountains, colorful forest, blue lake, clear weather during this time, it is hard to refuse a visit for western Sichuan. This Golden time lasts from middle October to November 20. After middle November, it will be winter season for western Sichuan.
Mt.Siguniang , as a part of western Sichuan, is one the best destination to travel for November. The colorful forest in the three valleys ( Shuangqiao Valley, Changping Valley and Haizi Valley), The tibetan stupa in Shuang Qiao Valley, the blue lakes in Shuangqiao and Haizi Valley, the crystal clean rivers in Changping valley, the impressive four peaks view of the four sisters Mountian (Mt.Siguniang) make it a pictureque world for photograph lovers and outdoor trekking Lovers.
In Novemember, there are also no rainfall because it is very dry so it is also not easy to form snow fall, so most of the days are sunny days and the weather is very clean, those factors make November is one of the best month for mountain climbing for Mt.Siguniang. For mountain climbing lovers would like to come to Mt.Siguniang during this month to try for the peaks of Dafeng, Erfeng and Sanfeng. Dafeng and Erfeng is possible to climb whole year around but for Sanfeng, November will be the last month to climb during the year. So if you would like to challenge Sanfeng 5355m peak climbing, will need to seize this month.
The temperature is from 3 to 12 ℃, and most of days are sunny days. Some days it snows. Need to be aware of big difference between day and night and bring warm clothes with you! November is one of the best season to climb the peaks for Mt.Siguniang, especially for Dafeng 5025m and Erfeng 5276m

If you're only intersted in sightseeing for Changping and Shuangqiao valley 3 and a half day is recommended with a program like the bellowing:
D1 Arrive in Sigunaing town(3200m)
D2 Sightseeing in Shuangqiao Valley with eco sightseeing shuttle bus
D3 One day tour in Changping Valley
D4 Drive back to Chengdu (4hrs driving). On the way, can make a stop at Wolong Panda breeding centre or Yingxiu town
If you would like to challenge your first snow mountain climbing experience. 4 to 5 day are recommended
D1 Arrive in Siguniang town 3200m
D2 One day accclimatizing
D3 Climb to Base camp ( Dafeng/Erfeng/Sanfeng, up to your choice )
D4 Climb up to the summit of Dafeng/Ereng/Safeng (up to your choice) and overnight at Sigunaing town
D5 Leave for Chengdu
If your shedule is tight and have no problem for acclimatization, the above program can be shorted to 2 and a half day. But if your shedule allowsm would recommended you to spend more time to acclimatize
If your shedule is flexible, it is recommeded for you to spend extra 1 or 2 nights at Siguniang town ( Rilong town) -elevation of 3200m for better acclimatization. Take dose of Rhodiola tablets (红景天)or Diamox would help to acclimatize, however need to check if you're allergic to some ingredients in advance.
It is recommended to take the first 1 or 2 days slowly at Siguniang town, do not do strong excerise and no alcohol. It is important to rest well and eat well at high altitude place. Do not think about high altitude sickness whole day and need to relax~ Even if you get sligh altitude reaction, please do not panic, the symptons will gradually disapper in 1 or 2 days.
Mt.Siguniang is only 4 hours driving from Chengdu. No flight or trains available but only by driving. It is possible to take public bus at Chadianzi bus station(茶店子汽车站) about 4- 5hrs driving, there are 3 bus dailys leaves in the early morning, no afternoon bus available. Or you can hire a private car to drive there any time during the day. But it is always recommended to drive there at morning time so you can have more time to acclimatize during the day. Compared to the hotel in the cities, the facilites is quite basic~ The best hotels can only be camparable to 3 star hotel in the cities but it is possible to book a clean and nice hotel- no luxury standard available at Mt.Siguniang town. When in winter time and spring time, it is important to book a hotel with proper heating system! In Summer time, it is not so cold, so without heating it is also fine. In November, it is already quite cold at night, so a hotel with heating would be the best for you, if the hotel can provide thermal electronic blankets, that would be also okay
If you are doing Mt.Siguniang climbing tour for Dafeng(5025m), Erfeng(5276m) or SanFeng(5355m), at the base camp, you can only do camping or stay in the stone house, very basic accommodation and not possible to take shower there.
The restaurants at Siguniang town normally offer Sichuan dishes and some Tibetan dishes! Local mush room and Yak hotpot is really good. For breakfast, it is normally typcial chinese style breakfast. If you are not so used to Chinese breakfast, it is recommended for you to buy some snacka and take your own instant coffee. Eggs can be provided though. Local food is quite decilicious , if you are not particular about western food, you might enjoy the local dishes a lot.
November is one of the best season for Mt.Siguniang and western Sichuan visit. Chengdu will be cold and cloudy whole november while drive 4 hours away to Mt.Siguniang, you can enjoy the great sunshine! The colorful forest, golden valley, blue sky, snow mountain peak view.
