In Hohhot, the average annual temperature is 6 C (42.8 F). The city features a cold semi-arid climate, marked by long, cold and very dry winters, hot, somewhat humid summers, and strong winds, especially in spring. The coldest month is January, with a daily mean of −11.6 °C (11.1 °F), while the July, the hottest month, averages 22.6 °C (72.7 °F).
Mongol is a hospitable nationality, when invited to a dinner, you must have some local table manners. For example, when the host toasts a drink or offer you the milk tea, it’s better for you to drink it. Otherwise, you are insulting them in their belief.
The best time to pay a visit is from April to October, while the best time to go to the grassland is from middle July to early September as the weather is pleasant at that time. In the Inner Mongolia, the hours of the sunshine are long. Do bring your sunglasses and the sunscreen cream to resist the ultraviolet rays. The temperature difference is huge.
