Weather in Ordos
Ordos city is in the north temperate zone with a Semi-arid continental climate with clear four seasons and abundant sunshine. The annual average temperature is 6.2℃ with the highest daily temperature of 38℃ and the lowest of -31.4℃. The annual precipitation is 300 - 400 mm in the eastern part of the prefecture, and 190 to 350 mm in the western part. The rainfall is infrequent and mainly concentrates on the period between July and September. Spring is the season often blowing sand and dust storm.
The best time to visit Ordos is from May to October, in which period can either avoids dust storms raging across the Ordos and appreciating gulls fly from north to the Bojiang Lake. In addition, the annual August Festival - Nadam Fair is held on the Ordos grassland and lunar March 21, May 15, August 12 and October 3. Mausoleum of Genghis Khan festivals are very grand, with a strong ethnic customs activity, not to be missed.
