【News】Can Travelers from Shanghai Still Visit Sichuan?
Case Report--1 new COVID-19 case is confirmed positive in Pudong, Shanghai
Mr. Wang, 51 years old, has been working at the Cargo Terminal - West Airline Division of Pudong Airport, never left Shanghai.
He went to Pudong New District People's Hospital for suspicious fever on Nov. 8 and found positive after nucleic acid test. He was transferred to Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center for isolation and treatment on Nov. 9 morning. All his close contacts including families and colleagues are tested negative and in isolation.
Yingqian Village, Zhuqiao Town, Pudong District is now listed as mid-level risk area. Rest places in Shanghai stay the same.
Current Policy
People from mid-level risk area, by principle, are not allowed to leave Shanghai. If you DO need to get out, COVID-19 test report will be required.
People from other places are not suggested to visit the mid-level risk area in Shanghai either.
Travel to Sichuan
Except only few sites, most places are open to foreign travelers who hold permanent residence ID card in China. So, if you have travel plan for Sichuan or if your Sichuan tour is just around the corner, don't worry. Sichuan is basically safe to go!
Just to be sure, please kindly confirm with the attraction site you are going to and the hotel you plan to stay in advance as different places may have different policies.

If you are planning to visit Siguniang Mountain, it's not open to foreign travelers yet, even if you hold residence visa. So don't even think about it.
If you are traveling to Jiuzhaigou, as long as you are not from high risk areas, we are good to go!
