【Recap】A Short Trip to Lhasa

We had a very short stay in China, but we really wanted to visit Tibet since it's so mysterious, so we chose a 4-day tour in Lhasa City.

And it's all worth it !!!

Day 1: Lhasa Arrival

Upon arrival, our guide were waiting for us at the airport and gave us a white Hada to welcome us. On the way back to hotel, we saw the Yarlung Tsangpo River andLhasa River.

If you feel well, it's OK to walk around or nearby. Because it’s our first time to high altitude city, we decided to take good rest at hotel.

Day 2: Lama Debate

Thanks to the good rest last night, we adapted to the highland quickly and we are prepared to explore the wonderful city now!

We visited the famous Sera Monastery and Drepung Monastery. Both monasteries have strong Tibetan cultural experience. You can see Lamas debating at the courtyard in the afternoon and that was one of the most unforgettable scene I'd ever seen!

After dinner, we went to see the famous Jincheng Pincess Show because Wencheng Princess Show is not open in winter now. But this show was still mind-blowing. I got to know the history and their culture additionally.

Day 3: Potala Highlight

Potala Palace was the main purpose of my Tibet trip. I've heard a lot that if you don't see the Potala Palace, it means you never visit Tibet.

When we finally stood in front of the Potala Palace, it was more shocking than we thought. You can really feel the deep love from local Tibeans, countless people walking beside you and spinning the prayer wheels in their hands.

Afterwards we went to Jokhang Temple, and do kora with local pilgrims. In the afternoon, we tried the Tibetan sweet tea at Barkhor Street, chatted with locals and even bargained with the street vendors for some gifts I brought back home for families. It was a really special experience for us to understand the real life in Lhasa.

Day 4: Goodbye

Soon our journey was over.

After the breakfast at hotel, the guide droped us to the airport.

The trip was short, but I still miss every day in Tibet, especially our lovely guide Tenzin. When I have a longer vacation next year, I will go back again with China Adventure.
