Last updated:Nov 18,2022; By: Alice; Hits: 104

Tibet Location

Northwest China,  which covers an area of 1.22 million square kilometers.

D1 /  Lhasa arrival

After arriving in Lhasa, we headed to the hotel for rest as it's not suggested to do sightseeiing on the first day unless you are super energetic!

D2 /  Lhasa

We finally visited our dream place -- Potala Palace. In the afternoon we also went to the famous Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Street.

After dinner, we enjoyed the Jincheng Princess show as the Wencheng Princess show is already closed for 2019. Totally amazing and unforgettable experience. You should try this show althoug most of the travelers don't even know. There is English script so yes we understand that!

D3 / Experience Trekking

After breakfast, we went to Dark Yerpa Monastery. Around 30 km to the Northeast of Lhasa, Drak Yerpa is one of the holiest cave retreats ever. There is a path leading to Drak Yerpa which you may need to do some small trekkng to reach! Be prepared!

In the afternoon, we drove to the Ganden Monastery. On the way, we saw the beautiful view of Kyichu River and drove all the way up to the mountain, where we had panorama view of the splendid monastery complex. We followed the Ganden Kora and trekked just like locals!

D4 / Yamdork Lake

We actually drove from Lhasa to Shigatse via Gyantse. The highligh of today would be the famous and amazing Yamdrok Lake! On the way to Yamdork Lake, we passed the Yajiang Valley. The lake in winter looks different from other seasons. I have googled many pictures before my visit but compared with what I had in front of my eyes, the pictures online are nothing.

D5 / Everest Base Camp

It's a long drive from Shigatse to Everest but you won't be bored as the beautiful sceneries on the way are what I have never seen and expected before! I only want to keep my eyes open for every second and capture every moments! At night we rested at the Rongbuk Monastery tenthouse, where we can have a nice view of the milkyway at night.

D6 / Everest-Shigatse

D7 /  Shigatse departure

We were supposed to go back to Lhasa city with the rest group members but due to the tight schedule, we chose to fly from Shigatse Airport. Goodbye Tibet! But this won't be my last visit for sure!
