1、Booking & Acceptance of Local Service
A booking becomes effective only from the date when the deposit payment is successful. By booking with chinaadventure.org (China Adventure), clients agree on this terms and conditions.
The client shall fully understand that if you visit some remote areas such as western Sichuan, Tibet, Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang or do trekking in mountains, these places cannot provide tour products as good as some other travel destinations in comfort and luxury way due to its undeveloped economy, backward infrastructure and harsh natural environment. The hotels, transportation, security, anti-epidemic, sanitation, medical service, communication and other infrastructures like AC condition in remote areas cannot be compared with those at the client’s home or on conventional holidays, even with other cities of mainland China, like Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, etc.
2、Cancellation
If clients have to cancel the booked trip, please write an email to China Adventure or contact your trip advisor to inform the cancellation. Cancellation refunds will be calculated from the date we receive your written cancellation. The cancellation fee includes charges from China Adventure and other third-party service providers like cruise, airline, and railway companies.

3、Alternation of Itinerary
3.1 Alternation Made by China Adventure
In certain circumstances, China Adventure may change the tour itinerary or services because of some geographical or political factors of the travel destination beyond China Adventure’s control. In this event, the schedules, itineraries, amenities or mode of transport may be subject to alteration, and sometimes without prior notice. Please be flexible in this arrangement. If China Adventure makes major changes, we will inform the client as soon as possible. The major changes refer to the changes affecting at least 1/2 of the itinerary. In this event, if the changes are not acceptable to the clients or we are not able to agree upon a suitable alternative, the client will be entitled to cancel the reservation and receive a full refund of the unused tour price, except the cancellation fees charged by airline/railway/hotel/cruise companies if applicable.
3.2 Alternation Made by Client
Client has the right to change the tour itinerary and services before and during the trip, but it may cause the cancellation and rebooking as well as the price difference on seasonal changes, which may correspondingly increase or decrease the tour price. All expenses incurred in alteration of the booking are the responsibility of the client. This includes all fees and charges levied by third parties such as cruise operators, airlines and hotels.
3.3 Complete the Trip before Designated Time
As the quotation for a tour is based both on length of tour days and total mileage of itinerary, the following two situations will be considered that China Adventure has successfully fulfilled the tour service and obligation:
a. tourists finished the planned itinerary ahead of time
b. tour days ended yet tourists failed to complete the itinerary due to force majeure (China Adventure will not be held responsible for force majeure)
If tourists extend the days beyond designated tour length, or make other tour beyond itinerary, China Adventure will accordingly charge extra fees occurred.
4、Travel Document
All clients must be in possession of a valid passport and necessary visas or permits at the commencement of travel. All such documentation is the sole responsibility of the client. Your travel advisor may assist you in applying for the necessary travel documentation upon request. China Adventure accepts no responsibility or liability whatsoever for the failure of clients to obtain appropriate documentation.
5、Insurance
This charge covers the insurance premium of Personal Travel Accident Insurance, In Chinese旅游意外伤害保险 (The right to interpret is reserved by insurance company). When the agreed insurance accident happens according to the insurance contract, insurance company will compensate for your corresponding loss; but the exact compensation amount and proportion cannot be ascertained before ratification by the according staff of the insurance company. China Adventure only takes charge of assistance with the insurance company to research, compensate and supervise whether the compensation is properly issued or not, instead of any other responsibility and compensation except those stated in the insurance contract with the insurance company. Any controversy can only resort to the Insurance Law of the People’s Republic of China and relevant laws.
The insurance only covers accidents inside China. China Adventure does not provide insurance out of China and does not compensate any accident out of China. China Adventure strongly advice travelers to purchase their own insurance as the complement of the tour insurance provided by China Adventure.
6、Health Risk
6.1 Health Check
Clients should take into account all international travel risks and familiarize themselves with health requirements applicable to the areas they intend to visit. The client is solely responsible for checking the safety and security conditions, vaccination, and other health requirements of governments in countries visited or transited.
If you are doing the trip to highland like Tibet, western Sichuan or trekking tour in mountains, due to the special geographic environment, a few travelers may suffer from acute mountain sickness and the complications. The client must advise China Adventure in writing, at or prior to booking, of any physical, emotional or mental condition which
a. may affect your ability to fully participate in the trip;
b. may require professional attention during the trip;
c. may require the use of special equipment.
If any such condition arises after the trip is booked, you must advise China Adventure in writing immediately.
6.2 Rescue Cost and Medical Expenses
Occasionally some clients might suffer from sudden diseases mainly as a result of serious high altitude sickness or for other reasons. Clients need to be transferred to nearest clinic or hospital or even end the tour and leave. In these cases, China Adventure’s team will do our best to rescue the clients, but this will cause extra cost like medical cost, transportation, human resources, equipment, etc. These costs will be on clients’ bill.
7、Accommodation Choice for Join-in Groups
We offer the opportunity for tourists to share a room with other join-in travelers during the tour to save the single room supplement. When you accept this offer, we would assume that tourists are willing to share the twin room with any group member. The gender and age difference is not taken into our consideration. Please kindly pay the single room supplement if:
a. you mind to share the room with strangers
b. you don’t want to share the room with person with opposite gender
c. there is no one available to share the room
8、Special Notice for Tibet Tour Booking
8.1 Tibet Travel Permit Application
8.1.1 Passport
Clients must be in possession of a valid passport. The passport must be valid at least 6 months before applying for Tibet permit. Clients are responsible to arrange Chinese Visa, entry and exit documents and procedures.
8.1.2 Entering Tibet from Mainland China
After a booking is confirmed for Tibet trip, client should send scanned copies of valid passport and Chinese visa to you trip advisor of China Adventure by email at least 30 days before departure. The client is responsible to make sure all the information on the scanned copies readable. If the client is working, studying, residing or doing a business travel in China, the client is also responsible to offer China Adventure corresponding working, studying, resident and business visiting certificates or permits. These documents are required to send to China Adventure along with the passport and Chinese visa.
8.1.3 Entering Tibet from Nepal
Clients entering Tibet from Nepal are responsible to send scanned copies of valid passport to China Adventure by email at least 30 days before departure, and must arrive at Kathmandu with the original passport at least 3 working days before the date of entering Tibet so that the local office of China Adventure can assist the client to apply for Group Tourist Visa. Clients need to contact China Adventure Kathmandu Office on time and pass the passport to our office before at least 3 working days.
NOTE: Clients entering Tibet from Nepal needs to apply for a special Tibet travel visa (Group Tourist Visa) at Kathmandu. Once getting the Group Tourist Visa, the Chinese visa obtained before (whatever type) automatically expires. So if you already have valid Chinese visa that you may use in the future (eg. working visa, studying visa, tourist visa), please DO NOT enter from Nepal. Instead, please go to mainland China first.
The Client is required to pay the visa fee to Kathmandu office of China Adventure, which is not included in the price quotation.
8.2 Tibet Train Ticket Booking
8.2.1 Reservation & Issue of Train Ticket
Due to the busy booking of Tibet Railway Tickets, the clients’ tickets will be normally issued 7-15 days before departure. During the Tibet’s peak season (from April to Mid-October, Chinese Spring Festival and other public holidays in China), the train tickets may be issued only 1-3 days before departure due to large market demand on tickets booking.
8.2.2 Flexibility on Train Ticket
During Tibet’s peak season, due to the shortage of supply, the train ticket demand may greatly exceed the supply and the train station will ask the client to make a flexible travel plan. For instance, the client may be required to take train one day prior or later to the original departure date, or take a connecting train instead of the direct one. The clients are kindly required to understand the situation of China.
8.2.3 Cancellation of Train Ticket
According to the latest policy of China Railway Bureau, passengers who want to cancel or change train tickets related to Tibet are required to take their original passports to one of the train stations in China in person to handle relevant procedures. For Travelers who are not in China but still want to get refunds or change the train tickets, China Adventure may not be able to help travelers cancel or change tickets. You have to give up the refunds. In this case, travelers will suffer a complete loss of train ticket if you can’t come to China to deal with the matter.
8.2.4 Soft Sleeper Berth
There are only 35-70 soft sleeper train tickets available on each train, and sometimes it is hard to book during peak season. Though China Adventure will endeavor to book soft sleeper as client’s requirement, but may fail to get tickets occasionally when the train station refuses the booking. This may be caused by:
a. giving priority to a bigger group booking;
b. giving priority to another booking which the train station identifies as more important or special;
c. giving priority to government booking;
d. canceling or decreasing soft sleeper cars due to maintenance of the train.
Correspondingly, the client hereby releases China Adventure from all claims and causes of action arising from any loss, mental damages, inconvenience or financial costs both direct and indirect incurred. When soft sleeper booking cannot be met, the train station may offer hard sleeper berth for the client as substitution.
8.3 Tibet Activity Restrictions
Local policy requests that foreign tourists need to travel under the arrangement of the travel agency and with the tour guide, if you have some personal arrangement in local, please follow our advice.
8.3.1 Personal Activity
If our clients prefer to visit attractions or public places or places for personal affairs alone during your stay in Tibet, you need to inform us in advance. Our company will try our best to help you arrange the visit and may need to send a tour guide to accompany you if necessary, with reasonable service charge.
8.3.2 Extended Stay beyond Scheduled Tour Plan
If tourists have rest time after or before scheduled travel plan, and are willing to tour somewhere else, please inform our company timely. Never venture out alone or use other company’s tour service, because the policy does not allow tourists using other company’s or personal private service if you do not get Tibet Travel Permit from them, otherwise you will bear legal responsibilities.
9、Complaints
If you feel unsatisfied with the service China Adventure provided, please feel free to contact your travel advisor or email us at info@chinaadventure.org to avoid the potential for similar problems happening again during your trip. Most problems can be solved immediately onsite, so please don’t hesitate to contact us so we can try our best to help accordingly!
In the event of a complaint, please inform us by email, regular mail, wechat, etc. in writing within 15 days from the end of your tour. Please keep relevant receipts as well. China Adventure will not be liable for any claims made later than 15 days after the completion of your tour.
10、Disclaimer
China Adventure will not be responsible for errors, emissions or inaccuracies in information provided by third party providers.
China Adventure shall not be responsible for any wrongful or negligent or fraudulent, omissions, changes of itinerary, cancellation or the failure of any equipment operated by those suppliers or any other party not directly owned or controlled by China Highlights.
China Adventure shall not be liable for any loss, injury, or damage to person or property, alteration of itineraries or cancellation in part or in full, caused by climatic conditions, sea fire, breakdown of machinery or equipment, acts of government or other authorities, wars whether or not declared, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, epidemics, quarantines, medical or customs regulations, terrorist activities, or any other actions, omissions or conditions beyond China Adventure's control. Neither China Adventure nor any of its affiliates or subsidiaries shall be or become liable or responsible for any additional expenses of liability sustained or incurred by the tour member as a result of any of the aforementioned causes. Please kindly cover the extra cost on your own.
China Adventure is not responsible for a client's failure to comply with customs regulations.
China Adventure is not responsible for the theft or loss of any customer's valuables or items of personal property due to the negligence of the customer.
China Adventure reserves the right to substitute hotels, flights, trains, or cruise ships, to alter itineraries, or to cancel the tour prior to departure. If China Adventure has cancelled any tour prior to the commencement of the tour, we will make substitute plan or offer full refund of the money received from the client.
Many of China Adventure tour packages include activities which require care and attention. Such activities include rafting, climbing hills, trekking, camping and entering and exiting caves etc. You will receive help and advice from our representatives but all activities are undertaken at your own risk. China Adventure’s employees and agents cannot be responsible for any action or event that occurs after its said employees and agents have exercised their duty and taken the necessary care.
China Adventure reserves the right to modify or rescind the terms and conditions in whole, or in part at any time with or without notice.
