Holy Mountain Minya Konka Trek 8 Days Tour

Day 1  Meet in Chengdu Hotel (500m)

Day 2 Chengdu – Kangding(2600m) – Laoyulin Power Station-  trek Gexi Grasslands (3400m) (BD)

Start from Chengdu in the morning from your hotel and drive for about 4 hours from the Chengdu plain into the mountains. Arrive in Kangding in the afternoon and then driver further 25km to Laoyulin Power station. Here we will trek 3km to Gexi Grassland, camp site for today. First on hiking, easy and slow from Trail winds in the forest and passes groups of pasturing yaks. Huge rock faces and all year round snow capped peaks that are above 5000m can be seen on this day. Camp by a river in an open pasture by the foot of Little Gongga.

Overnight eleavation :3400m

Day 3 Gexi Grassland-trek 9km -Liangcha he-trek 5km to Lower Riwuqie-Trek 4km to Upper Riwuqie (4350m)

After breakfast, we will trek toward Upper Riwuqie with amazing scenaries along the way. 2 hrs later, we shall reach Liangchahe which will be surround a large pile of red stones, take your time to take great photos. Later on, we shall trek southwards and will have gorgeous view of snow mountains of  Tianhaizi （6070m）, Small Minya Konka(6027m), Jiazifeng (6549m). Enjoy the amazing view while slowly trek to upper Riwuqie-campsite for tonight.  Trek  Distance: 15km, around 7-9 hours Elevation of night: 4350m  Notice: If heavy snow falls, we will adjust to Panpan mountain route as it would be impossible to cross Riwuqie Pass. 

Day 4 Upper Riwuqie –(6km)- Riwuqieyakou(4920m)-(12km)-Moxigouwei Camp (or Leduomanyin BC camp-4100m)(3900m)

A difficult day starts by walking up to the 4920m pass. Necessary breaks while walking to catch your breath or taking pictures. A panoramic view by the top of the Riwuqie pass where you can see great views of the mountains in Gonggashan. After the pass, walk down to REddomaine Camp descending for about 1000m. Descend for 300m in 15km. One full day walking in the lush Moxi valley. River-crossing involved. Arrive by Winter Ranch at around 3600m and camp for overnight.

Trekking time : 6 – 8 hours

Overnight elevation: 3900m

Notice: During holiday we will camp at Leduomanyin BC camp(4100m) instead of Moxigouwei Camp to avoid the crowds

Day 5 Moxigouwei Camp (or Leduomanyin BC camp-4100m)(3900m)-9km-Yulongxi Yakou(4500m)-6km-Yulongxi village (3800m)

Continue walk to the south and make a U turn to the Gongga Gompa. There is only one monk living here. A late start today after a little walk around the Gompa and watch the sunrise by the Gompa. Gongga Gompa provides one of the best locations to have a full view the peak of Gonggashan. The walking starts by the Gompa and retrace a little before walk to the local Tibetan Tsemed village where you catch your car to drive to Shangmuju, another Tibetan village for guestroom overnight, en route stop by Tsemed Pass to have a final view of Gonggashan.

Trekking time: 6- 8 hours

Overnight elevation:3800m

Day 6 Yulongxi cun village  (Tsemed village ) hiking – including Quanhuatan- Lenggatso lake

Yulong xi village-1km- Quanghuatan- car driving 10km +4.5km trek to Lengga tso- 3.5 km trek+ 10km driving-Yulongxi village

A late start today after a little walk around the Gompa and watch the sunrise by the Gompa. Gongga Gompa provides one of the best locations to have a full view the peak of Gonggashan. The walking starts by the Gompa and retrace a little before walk to the local Tibetan Tsemed village where you catch your car to drive to Shangmuju, another Tibetan village for guestroom overnight, en route stop by Tsemed Pass to have a final view of Gonggashan.

Trekking Distance: 9km

Trekking time : 6.5 hours

Driving distance: 20m,  40 minutes

Day 07 Yulongxi Village-Zimei Pass-Zimei Village-Bayuhai Park lot-Caoke(Or Shimian during holiday)(BD)

We will start to head back from this day. After breakfast, we shall trek to Zimei Pass for sunrise view. This is one the best platform for view Mt. Minya Konka. Here can view starry sky, sunrise, golden morning sunlight and cloud sea.   Later on, we will drive to Xiazimei village and then trek across virgin forest.  Lunch time at Bawang lake and ready to board on the bus to drive  to Caoke or Shimian  Trek  Distance: 13km, around 4.5hours Driving distance:72km, 2hrs Elevation: Zimei Pass: 4500m, Bawang lake 3100m, Caoke village 1500m  Notice: During holiday season, we will overnight in Shimian or Hailuogou instead of Caoke 

Day 08  Caoke-Ya'an-Chengdu(BL)

It's home return day. We shall drive back to Chengdu with good memories of the trek. If you want to leave the same out of Chengdu, please book a flight leaves after 5pm  Driving Distance:305km, around 7 hours
