09:30: Hotel Pick up

We will meet you at the hotel and then go to a local market to shop the ingredients of dumplings.

10:00-10:30: Market Shopping

A glimpse of Chinese condiments is a must for you to know Chinese cooking including cooking oil, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, toasted sesame oil, salt, etc. Various vegetables, meat and fruits are available to buy at the market, which is a must for daily life.

11:00-13:30: Home Cooking Class

After we finish the shopping, we will go to a local family where we will learn how to make dumplings. Dumpling, which generally consists of minced meat and finely chopped vegetables wrapped into a piece of dough skin, is one of the most important foods in China, which symbolizes wealth due to its shape. After the cooking is done, we will taste the dumplings by yourself and enjoy the Chinese dishes.

14:00-15:00: Beihai Park

Beihai Park, sandwiched between Forbidden City and Zhongnanhai, is one of the oldest, largest and best-preserved ancient imperial gardens in China located in center of Beijing. This ancient garden, with over 1,000 years' history, is not only a classic combination of the grandiosity of the northern gardens and the refinement of the southern gardens in China, but also a perfect integration of magnificent imperial palaces and solemn religious constructions.

15:30-17:00: Hutong Tour

Today we will have a chance to explore the traditional residents living area (Hutong) and admire the Beijing’s culture and history and see the real life of Beijingers by taking rickshaw.

18: 00: Beijing Roasted Duck

Last but not the least, we will try the most famous cuisine in Beijing, Beijing Roasted Duck, which has been prepared since the imperial era. The meat is characterized by its thin, crisp skin, with authentic versions of the dish serving mostly the skin and little meat, sliced in front of the diners by the cook.

19: 30: Drop off Back to Hotel

Finishing the dinner, we will head back to your hotel.
