This tour covers almost all the high lights of Western Sichuan, including Wolong (Panda paradise), Siguniang Mountain, Yala Mountain, etc. Over 1300 years ago, Libai,great poet in Tang Dynasty(618–907A.D.), described Sichuan as “more difficult to reach than heaven”. That’s why now we can see most naturally wild things kept by nature.

Itinerary Details

D1 Chengdu - Wolong - Siguniang Mountain - Jiaju Tibetan Village

After breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel and head to Wolong. Wolong is known as the "Hometown of Giant Panda" because of its rich recourses of Giant Pandas. On the way to Aba, where Tibetan and Qiang Minority dwell, we will pass via Dujiangyan and enjoy the beautiful scenery of western Sichuan. In the afternoon, we will begin the trip at Siguniang Mountain scenic area, which is mainly dominated by snow peak, pasture, grassland and forest. Stroll through the scenic area to experience the real pastoral scenery. After Siguniang Mountain, we will arrive at Jiaju Village in Danba at night. The rest time is for you to relax. Feel free to drink some barley wine, enjoy the bright moon in the village, and if lucky, we can join in the local villagers to jump Guozhuang (local celebration ceremony) and enjoy the pleasant and beautiful journey.

D2 Jiaju Tibetan Village - Yak Valley -Yala Snow Mountain - Tagong Grassland - Xinduqiao

After breakfast we will proceed to Yak Alley. You will lost yourself observing the snow mountains, natural bonsai scenic area on the way and Kamayi Stone Forest which changes color with different seasons. After about 1 hours’ drive, we will reach the famous Yala Snow Mountain, one of the four sacred mountains in Tibetan areas of China. Being famous for mountain lakes, forests and starry nights, Yala Mountain also have rich resources for glacier falls, hot springs, and colorful lakes scattered around. Our next destination is Tagong Grassland, which situates just at the back of Yala Snow Mountain. On the grassland sit the famous Muya Golden Town and Tagong Monastery. When in summer, you can see the herdsmen’s tents standing on the Tibetan plateau. Following the G318, we will reach Xinduqiao soon, also known as “Paradise for Photographers”. You will be astonished by its scenery, lakes and far view of Tibetan Villages.

D3: Xinduqiao -  Zheduo Mountain - Kangding - Yajiageng Red Stone Beach - Hailuo Valley

After breakfast, we set off from Xinduqiao to Moxi town. The whole journey is 150km, about 3.5 hours. After climbing over the Zheduo Mountain and Kangding, we arrive at the Yajiageng Red Stone Beach. Going along the platform, you can have close look of the beautiful and mysterious rest stones. In the afternoon we will reach Moxi Town and enter Hailuogou, which is famous for its hot springs. Situated above 1580m, it’s one of the best hot springs in China.

D4: Hailuogou - Luding - Ya 'an - Chengdu

Weather permitting; we can get up early to see the sunrise. The best view point is on the way to Camp 3, where you have clear visibility of the mountains, glaciers and the primary forest. Today we will have about 1 hour’s trekking in the woods, or you can take cable car instead. In order to have a close look at the glacier, we can descend to the bottom. In the afternoon, we will drive about 2 hours to the Luding Bridge, an iron chain structure built during the Qing dynasty. The suspension bridge consists of thirteen chains, nine forming the floor, covered with planking, with two chains on either side serving as rails. Later on, we will drive back to Chengdu via Ya’an.
