Best Time to Visit Zhangjiajie

It is difficult to say when is the best time to visit Zhangjiajie as its mountainous surroundings make it attractive in all seasons. But there's a general consensus that April and October are particularly favorable months to visit, as both the scenery and the temperature are ideal. The climate is always comfortable with the annual average temperature of 16°C.

Spring (Mar.-May)

All the flowers on mountains blossom and mountains are luxuriantly green. Plants are green and air is fresh at this time. It’s suitable for relax with friends and families and outdoor activities.

Summer (May-Aug.)

In summer, the temperature in Zhuangjiajie is comfortable, making it an ideal summer resort for you. It usually rains in June and July, but Zhangjiajie is more beautiful after rain and you can enjoy the cloud and fog spectacle in Tianmen Mountain, West Sea and other parts of Wulingyuan.

Autumn (Sep.-Dec)

Autumn is a romantic season. Visitors who come to Zhangjiajie can appreciate the sense which you can only read from a poem. The mountains turn colorful with green, red, yellow, purple, gray, etc.

Winter (Dec.-Feb.)

In winter, visitors can marvel at the evergreen trees among the snowy landscape. All the mountains, trees, roads are covered by snow, and Zhangjiajie National Forest Park turns into a pure white world. The mountains far away bring you a feeling of mystery.
